Founded by Kseniya Kirichenko – a human rights lawyer, intersectional feminist and community organiser – Suffragerie is a textile atelier and fiber arts project rooted in storytelling, memory and slow making.
Having learned knitting and crochet in childhood from the women of her family in Siberia, Kseniya brings together ancestral knowledge, vintage and historical techniques, feminist values and contemporary design to create one-of-a-kind textile pieces and meaningful learning spaces.
At Suffragerie, knitting is more than technique.
It is material memory, creative expression, care and a language connecting people across generations and cultures.
Fiber arts and crafts hold stories, labor, imagination, politics, tenderness and time. They help us reconnect – with ourselves, with others, with histories and futures. They offer an alternative way of making and wearing – against the rhythms of disposability and overconsumption.
